Columbia Square — Hollywood, California

Hollywood's Iconic 4.7 Acre Site Transformed into a Modern Creative Center

Originally constructed in 1938, Columbia Square in Hollywood stands today as a beacon of cultural innovation and hosts a celebratory art program curated by DPA. Serving as the birthplace of Hollywood’s entertainment industry, Columbia Square has evolved into a vibrant creative hub hosting Viacom, Neuehouse, and UnInterrupted among tenants.

The DPA team selected and worked with renowned artist, Dustin Yellin to meticulously craft six monumental sculptures on-site, integrating glass, magazine clippings, paintings, and found materials in his iconic Psychogeographies style. These artworks seamlessly incorporate filmic ephemera, paying homage to the site’s profound historical role in shaping entertainment and technology. This is the first of Dustin Yellin’s outdoor sculpture installations.

DPA was instrumental in our project, seamlessly integrating art into the construction while keeping the budget on track. They expedited the approval process with the city, ensuring we stayed on schedule. Their efforts resulted in significant media coverage, showcasing the project’s impact. We are grateful for DPA’s expertise and dedication.
