DPA organized and managed a juried art competition among local artists to find the ideal solution for an unsightly loading dock. Seattle’s art leaders and enthusiasts were selected to join the jury in pursuit of an art treatment that would serve as a local icon. Electric Coffin was chosen to create Bluest Skies, a dimensional mural that spans the loading dock and has become a significant cultural landmark. The mural features Perry Como's iconic lyric, “The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle.” Installations like this foster a strong connection between art, development, and the local community.
DPA was commissioned to bring 333 Dexter to life through a series of impactful art installations across the campus. Comprised of two buildings with Class A office spaces, the property boasts open communal areas, terraces, dynamic artwork, and sweeping vistas. As a vibrant hub for Apple’s Seattle offices, 333 Dexter is both a distinctive workplace and a cultural landmark. DPA collaborated with Apple’s architecture and design lead to curate a captivating public art sculpture by Jon Krawczyk, adding a unique artistic touch that enhances the campus’s identity.
DPA engages with the specific potentials of the project (client, site, project type) and then generates artistic proposals that build onto the strengths of the project elevate the creative expression to new heights.
